Napakiak is a Yupik Eskimo village located 15 miles downstream from Bethel on the Kuskokwim River. This village of more than 300 people has made great strides in improving its water and sanitation sector over the past 18 years with the generous financial assistance from the State of Alaska and the Village Safe Water program as well as the Environmental Protection Agency, USDA Rural Development, and the Alaska Department of Transportation.
All Napakiak homes now have the Cowater Flush Tank and Haul® system – providing every home with running water to the kitchen and bathroom and a flush toilet. All honey buckets are officially eliminated from Napakiak!
